Fun Day in Delray!!!!

Gleneagles Country Club

This week I didn't know where I wanted to play golf so I chose to play Gleneagles Country Club because a friend of mine from New Jersey has a house there and is a full member so therefore he has to play the course a certain amount of times a year.  Well this was perfect for me because I needed to get out and play a new course and this week with not knowing where to go his phone call came at the perfect time.  When I pulled up to Gleneagles I really didn't know what to expect, but i was just going with an open mind and just knowing that I was going to have fun since I haven't seen my friend in a while.  Well guess what, this was a private course that not many people are allowed to get out on and play and fortunately for me I was able to play and it was a great golf course.  My friend and I had so much fun that after we played the first 18 holes of golf we went into the pro shop and said is there anyway we could play a few more holes and the guy said "sure go have fun".  That is exactly what we did we went out and played another 9 holes and then went upstairs and had a beautiful dinner that overlooks the golf course.

The Tour Championship

Sunday's Dramatic Ending on the PGA Tour!!!

As Sunday was a wild ending and might be considered one of the best golf shots in the history of the game, Bill Haas was the winner of the Tour Championship as well as the winner of the FedEx Cup.  Now the FedEx cup is for the golfer who has played the best golf all year and then the top 30 golfers in the world go to the Tour Championship to see who will win FedEx Cup.  The winner of this tournament gets $10,000,000.  This money is almost fake money where this is a huge sum for just one tournament but really it isn't just one tournament its the whole entire PGA tour season.  As the drama continued into the final round on Sunday afternoon, Bill Haas struggled coming in and finished with two bogeys and a par.  This meant that he had to go into a playoff with Hunter Mahan.  When the playoff started Hunter looked like he had a big advantage when Bill Haas pulled his second shot in on the playoff and it just trickled into the water but was fortunate that it was on dirt and wasnt fully in the water.  When he hit it out of the water he hit it 2 feet from the pin and is considered one of the best golf shots in history.  Bill Haas then WON the tournament on the the next hole!!!!  Bill Haas had a great day and not only did he win the tournament and win the FedEx Cup but he was also selected to be on the United States team in the Presidents Cup.

Second Round on the Links

OCEAN BREEZE GOLF AND COUNTRY CLUB

Next Stop!!! Ocean Breeze Golf and Country Club.  This week I went out to Ocean Breeze to hit some golf balls and they were having a great deal on a golf membership.  It is $29 a month and includes unlimited golf balls, free greens fees after 3 p.m. and included with that they give you two free sodas with your round of golf.  So I bought the membership when I went there.  Lately, I have been going there to just practice and hit golf balls but this week I actually went out with a guy who I met on the driving range there and we played some golf.  The golf course was in decent shape but for the price they were charging you cant beat the price.  I recommend for the beginner golfer and those who don't want to spend a lot of money on playing golf or just want to go out and have fun then Ocean Breeze Golf and Country Club is the place to GO!!!!!

Golfing in Sunny Florida

First week out on the links in South Florida I started out at Mizner Country Club.  When I got to Mizner I was surprised that there was this hidden gem that might have been the best course that I have played so far in South Florida.  WOW!!!  Well this course was an Arnold Palmer design and was a private golf course so it was hard to get onto play but luckily I had a friend that invited me to go out and PLAY...When I got to the course it gave me a sense that it was going to be a tough course because there was just so much water on the entire golf course.  I was again wrong because this course was not only hard but it was awesome.  I had one of the best times playing golf and am looking forward to getting back out on the links this week and going to tee it up at a new golf course in the South Florida region.  I shot 77 on 18 holes and was not satisfied with the round so after the round I made my way over to the practice facilities that Mizner Country Club provides and worked on the driving range and on the putting green.  After the round we went and ate inside at the club house which had the best Turkey Sandwich EVERRR!!!
